Was at Uncle Eddie's wake on Friday and Sunday @ the Chapel of Resurrection, St Joseph's Church .. the countless wreaths, stream of friends, relatives, colleagues, ministers, grassroots leaders who came can only be a testimony of the greatness of this uncle of mine. My aunt Nancy, Kelvin, Adriel and Aaron - be strong ....

Came to work really early on Mon as i need to be off at 10am to attend the funeral mass and cremation. It was so hard to lay the flowers beside Uncle Eddie .. so hard to look at him, so hard to see the closure of the coffin lid ... everyone who were present could not contain the tears ... his factory workers, colleagues and staff came in droves to pay their last respects ... friends and relatives were out in full force despite it being a Monday.

The eulogies read at the mass was so touching ... by a member of the Singapore Lions Club - "Eddie joined the Lions Club of Singapore and was appointed a Director the following year .... Eddie was a man who put others before himself. On one occasion, he could not attend a BBQ organized for the Lions Home for the aged... yet he wanted to donate some drinks and he personally delivered the drinks to the home .... on another occasion, boxes are needed for another event yet again, despite his busy schedule, he personally delivered the boxes ..." A colleague of his for 28 years broke down while delivering his eulogy - he cannot forget the working relationship and friendship they shared. Another person from the RCC Golf Club said this "when the Tsunami struck, Eddie immediately called me and asked what the club planned to do. In such short notice, the club cannot do anything much. Eddie took it upon himself to gather 150 golfers and in one day, raised more over 50 thousand dollars for Tsunami victims & families....." The priest of St Joseph's Church could remember Eddie as a truly devoted and loving husband to Nancy - his support and dedication to her.

Adriel (2nd son) delivered the eulogies on behalf of his mum, elder bro Kelvin and younger bro Aaron. He was composed but only proof of the fond memories of his loving dad and devoted husband to his mum. This is his own eulogy (copied from his blog) "What I will miss about my father is his sense of responsibility. Always going that extra mile to ensure our comfort, he never refused a single request even if it meant he had to make substantial sacrifices. In a way, he spoilt and indulged us and this could only be a manifestation of the degree of his love for the family. On top of that, his humour brought so much warmth, cheer and fun into our lives. Whether it was his excessive dependence on his mobile phone or the occasional topping of the golf ball on the course, the fondness of these light hearted moments will forever be etched in our hearts. And as we bid farewell to a selfless father, dedicated husband, a passionate social worker, dedicated and competent leader and essentially, a servant king who led by example in service to others, we can always take comfort in the knowledge that he will live on in our hearts in a special way. Finally, for those who share in our faith, we live in anticipation of joining him and the communion of Saints when God calls us to eternal rest.. " - sniff sniff

It was a Catholic funeral and the only hymm i could sing was Amazing Grace cos I am a Buddhist and did not feel comfortable in reading the prayers.... but its the thoughts which count.

Have been busy otherwise with assignments .. and first examination on 1 Feb (4th day of CNY - sucks big time!!!) .. and 2nd paper on 8 Feb ... will be taking 3-days leave next week to start preparing for exams so can enjoy my CNY ....

Life is fragile

Life is fragile .... nothing is certain .. and we never know what will happen later ..... feeling sad as one of my uncle (the husband of my 7th aunt) passed away last evening. He was perfectly fine and went for his medical check-ups regularly. Was told that he wanted to have steamboat with his family on Tues .. after dinner, went to bed .. and had difficulty breathing and then suddenly, just blacked out! was told a blood vessel burst in his head .. doctors told family that this is a condition which cannot be detected via the usual scan etc .. and happens to 1 in 25 people. The doctors told family to be prepared as it was for certain he would be gone ... How could someone who was so nice, humble, down to earth, friendly just go away like this?

Chinese New Year & family gatherings will never be the same without him .. he was always the one who would be a banker and gambled with us. He was the one who, when playing blackjack, would tell us what cards he got so we can try our best to match his. He was the one who never had the heart to take away the young ones' stakes and instead who would give them extra money even if they lost. He was the one who would speak to those below him and never ever looked down on anyone.

He was an avid golf player who never failed to strike up a conversation with me (as he knew where I was working in) about the pharma business, his golf sessions with so & so ministers, acquaintances etc.. he was brimming with life when I last met him at a relative's wake.

During his last 2 days in hospital, the visitors were never ending. Even the gardener (dressed shabbily in rubber boots and dirty clothes) at his factory came to visit him and eyes brimming with tears .. his friends, staff, family all came. Only proof of what a great man he was when he was living. Alas, I did not managed to see him in hospital. Was busy at work on Monday and wanted to go last night .. it was too late!

** Uncle Eddie - RIP. You may have left us, but the memories which you left behind will be with us for a long long time ***

Brand New Year

Hi - folks, do you set New year resolutions? and if you do, do you keep to them? I am a person who set new year resolutions and try my best to achieve them. I am proud to say that I have achieved 3 of my 2005 resolutions which were to get my driver's licence, persevere with my studies and to lose weight (hip hip hurray)! one of my impt 2006 resolution is to complete my Communications program with USQ ... and i got to try to control my temper a lot more as i tend to flare up rather easily when irritated or provoked ... getting angry will cause more wrinkles and spoil my mood so why let ppl upset me?! and i want to treat my family members much much better as they are the ones who will be there for you when things go wrong.
i have been trying hard to complete my assignments but those for this term are really TOUGH .. and i am struggling ... but it has been a good new year so far except for bad news of one of my 'bestest' buddies tendering her resignation .. i will definitely miss her (X100) ...but we can always keep in touch as friends .. and from the bottom of my heart, as a fren, i am happy to see her go cos she wasn't exactly happy here.
work-front, i have dealt pretty well with a a nasty woman here .. so she is now off my back .. thankfully! have told her that she should try to do most of her stuff as I am only here to help with the basics .. as my attention is focused on my boss and my communication activities ....
funny that i have never like karaoke, but recently have been going often with my gal-pals and find that i actually enjoy it .. but we don't just plain sit and sing, we dance, shout, scream, whatever!

Hi, folks - Merry (belated) X'mas .... X'mas was well-spent but tired .. collected the car on 2412 ..then had a x'mas chalet to go to with a the 'bitches' (me inclusive)!!! was surprised and shocked to see the drastic change in a gal pal .. she just seemed so unlike her .. after returning from her studies in Oz land .. she will be back for 5 mths .... boy do i hope the best for her cos she's not even 23 and not street-smart enough.... will try my best to provide some counsel. We had a good time bitching and Alvin came at 11.30pm.. he helped to buy additional drinks supply and set up the fire again to BBQ more food for himself (and us naturally) .. we did the countdown with the other folks at the other chalets it was great fun with our party poppers, sprinklers etc... my 2 babes enjoyed themselves also with kelly & shirlyn ...
Did not wake up till noon on 2512 .. went for lunch then went to get pressies for the kids and off to a long-time gal pal's housewarming party .. a nice new home she's got and i enjoyed the company .. alvin came too and he had a good chat with one of my long-time fren ... Boxing Day was spent sleeping late (again!!) .. went to Tampines Mall to shop, bought clothes for the 2 babes .. then sent alvin to his soccer game at Kallang .. boohoo but they lost! it's ok, try harder .. then after a late dinner at 9.30pm (this is bad for my exercise routine) .. went to pick dad from Orchard.
I am going to the gym to work out on Tue (and plan to do so at least 4 times this week) cos I was BAD, real bad to miss exercising for 1 whole week! ... am excited cos driving to work alone tmr for the 1st time .. I will be extra careful ...Boss is away on vacation till 11th Jan (hurray) .. but need this time and space to work out my other 2 assignments. I have a terribly bad habit of waiting till the last last minute to complete but the stress is not doing me any favours - Noormie, let's try to break this bad habit of ours ... fight on!
Gonna miss my sis and babes for 3 days as they are off the Malaysia for a short holiday - boohooboohoo .... my babes whom I see or talk to every day ... I lurve you both!
I am looking fwd to the family BBQ on NY's eve .. it will be great fun ...
drove to work by myself for the 1st time on 2712 ... nothing major but quite frightening with so many cars in the morning ... well, better get used to it ...
the office is so nice and quiet with most ppl away on vacation/ leave ....

Yo, pals - have never been so happy for a long time. Firstly, I passed my driving test on my 1st attempt on 12 November. Secondly, checked my long-dreaded results for the do-or-die assignment and bingo, passed with fantastic results so it helped me cover my not-so-fantastic results in part 1. Finally, yes finally, we bought a car yesterday .. now waiting for the delivery on or before 15 Dec!
It's the Honda Fit but we will have to add in body kit and change the tyres to sports rims to give the car a sporty look. Anyways, it's the car me and Alvin have always wanted to get so we are both glad .... will start driving to work when I get the car cos Alvin does not need the car at work. Though am happy, will now have to watch my money, can't go on shopping sprees that often anymore.
Met Noormie last thurs for class .. you don't know how dreadful classes have been without any familiar faces. For one particular module, I find I am the only other one in that module as other students have transferred to day classes .... can u imagine how hard i have to make myself awake?! was extremely happy when noormie commented that i have lost inches and it's visible that i have gone thinner .. .. yeah, at least my perspiration and determination are worthwhile not to mention the $$ spent .. :)
this is going to be one year when I dread the Lunar New Year. This has always been my fav festival from young, but this time round, exams fall between 30 Jan to 7 Feb, right smack in the middle of CNY ... where am i gonna get the mood ha? gotta tell myself, after these 2 modules, it's 6 more to go before graduation.
Alas, the assignments for these 2 modules are so tough, i wonder how am i going to pull through .... i want to go to the temple more often to pray ...
this Friday is the company's annual dinner .. theme is 70's .. still have not figured out what to wear, depends on my mood and see how it goes .. i am in charge of the events company which means i have a chance to 'sabo' ppl but myself will never get 'sabo-ed' ... that's the motive behind opting for this ..
work-wise, there is a new 'witch' in the company. I will just have to learn how to deal with her .. think SPG and you can visualise her ..
better get back to work now .. this is just a short update on the happy things which have happened to me recently.. so long, take care folks for now!

wow - after 2 continuous nights of 3.5hrs sleep (Wed & Thurs), Friday was like a 'release' for me! thanks noormie for the company or i would have zzz off already ... but again, the stress is killing, esp for me *wink*. Let's juz hope i get a pass .. and on Thur, i actually emailed the wrong assignment to my home addy and left my notes at the office, thanks alvin dear for sending me to pick up and return at 10pm amidst the thundering rain! thanks also jarald boy for coming along ... I am blessed!

did i post that i simply love year-end .. the festivities round the corner .. start of another brand new year ... more shopping .. oh my ...

took Wed afternoon off to hang out with a clleague cum friend. wanted to catch the korean movie Lady Vengence or something, in the end, i persuaded her to abort the idea and we went shopping - my fav all time activity. Needless to say, spent quite a bit on clothes (then feel guilty) .. went for hi-tea with sister & kids after my driving class, was ravenous but managed to contain wat i ate cos din want to waste my efforts at aerobis/ gym. Then went shopping and i am happy that i bot a black adidas x-trainers .. have always wanted a black one cos I have the others in white. Yeah - i can wear it for my toning class later today!

my gym classes going well .. me go for hip hop, toning, aerobics, step workout etc etc .. have been quite good to hit the place at least 4x a week. results are showing all babes out there .. i am a true believer of exercise .. as i say i am feeling happy that me going for a class later ..

monday going for dinner with colleagues - steamboat @ royal hotel .. heard it's good and it better be good cos i cancelled my driving class to go with the gals .. *hee hee* then on Tue, it's hi-tea at merchant court for 2 gals' birthday celebration (but i don like buffets as it puts a toll on my determination, but i had better be good if i wanna see more results!) ...

wanted to take Mon and Wed off for a super super long weekend, but work is preventing me from doing that .. but it's ok, office will be quite nice and quiet as most ppl are off except for my usual gang - Pasir Panjang, Poh Huat, Marine Parade, Clementi and Pasir Ris! but most importantly, the clowns and insects are gonna be away!

ok .. gotta pack up and go over to dad's house soon .. have a good Deepavali and Hari Raya for those celebrating and happy holidays to all!

hey hey - the weather is so condusive for staying at home, snuggled in bed watching TV or sleeping ... definitely not good for work *yawn*. i have finally finished my newspaper feature articles .. thankfully the Prof i spoke to is a good friend of a marketing manager here and so he is super friendly and nice .. only grouse was he spoke so fast and i had to take down notes really really at full speed. But it's a nice feeling that one assignment is over, but i dread starting the other one, as it's the one which will decide if I make or break my PR module.
missed the usual diploma kakis leh - peeps if you are reading, when can we meet up for ECP? sue, melly, noormie, ivan, kalai, april, josh, wanting, jessica etc etc .. it will be fun
oh rude me rude me - did i credit noormie for my blog design? thanks noormie - you are a genius! having a nagging cold which will not go away - need to increase intake of vit C .....

What a Day!

today i was on half-day off in the morning to go for driving lessons .. me enjoying my driving lessons more and more .. can't wait to pass my TP!!! anyways, in the driving school, you usually do not get the same instructor all the time .. but i suppose i am lucky to have the same instructor thrice .. nice, patient and most importanly loads to chat about! i have about 7 more revisions to go then it's the DAY! ... me a little kiasu so have booked extra revision lessons .. can i pass 1st time? i certainly hope so leh ..
nothing much on work front but i always wonder why some people are natural at irritaing others! talk about irritants .. loads in my workplace or maybe i am ultra-sensitive. but thankfully i have friends/ colleagues around and we talk to each other a lot (thanks JL, MT, AT, VG, SF, EJ etc etc) ... feeling the stress at work and trust me, Communications is really a demanding area to be in....
2 assignments coming up soon Oct 21 and Oct 28 (this is the super important one that I have to score in order to pass this module) .. otherwise i end up having to retake and i feel so heart-ache at the amount that i would have to pay again! pray for me ok .. this weekend shall be my mugging weekend .. will aim to complete my assignments by sunday .. noormie - remind me okie?! next semester i will miss noormie as we will not be doing similar modules .... *sob sob*
the 2 lil ones are oh so cute .. coming to my house to stay over on saturdays tho their house is just like a block away lugging their pillows and almost their entire collection of stuffed toys .. after one night, we gotta lug them all back to their house on sundays! we have supper, talk and watch TV in my room together .. while hubby's busy watching soccer matches at the living room~ he enjoys having them around and likes talking to them too ~ so sweet!
it was bell's bday on sunday .. took her out to buffet dinner on saturday and gave her a Gift Certificate which she can exchange for a pair of sports shoes from me & hubby after her exams. She has a choice of Adidas, Nike or Reebok .. but she told me she wants Converse.. will let her decide ... the boy is as usual super adorable but super mischievous at the same time and very often, not sure to be angry with him or not ..
btw- am starting my gym/ yoga/ aerobics lessons again!! at Amore - it's ladies only so no worries about the flab and fats hanging at the wrong places .. I do it during lunch with my colleague and I take about 2-hours each time .. but me being oh so responsible makes up for it by working later than usual .... but if results start to show, then the sacrifice is worth it (time and $$$ - it is not cheap man!) .. i have 6 mths for results to show .. gotta cut my love for food!

hi peeps .. spent a great deal of time reading posts of the others .. nice way to keep up to date with what's happening to the others. I hardly see the rest these days, only Josh and Noormie. Noormie and me motivate each other a lot, and encourage each other. we turn to each other when we run into problems or get mental block ..thanks Noormi! oh and dear Melly - u joining us in S3 for USQ? this whole USQ thingy is really different from Diploma days where stuff were fed to us. Now, we have to do loads of research and trust me, it's so d**n tough! gotta complete 10modules and i have onli done 2 this semester. i am thinking like when am i gonna graduate?
it was ivan's bday something last week, sent him a greeting but din respond, noormie - any idea? it's good to see Sue wanting to go back to school. Sue - when can we see you again? April - heard from Noormie and read in ur blog re: retrenchment and glad that you have found another job. Joining USQ soon?
i am taking driving lessons now at the school - 1st 5 lessons i went for manual cos hubby said class 3 is better as i can drive both manual and auto cars .. but gave up, cos really busy man with the gear and clutch. Now, realise that driving auto is a breeze .. taking TP soon ( i am not telling when cos will be embarrassing man, if i fail hor?!), hope i can pass leh .. if i pass, then gonna be able to drive to school at Jurong - how nice is that? no more having to take buses/ train or taxis .. but then hor, gonna cost more $$ lor. sometimes i really wish i already have my driver's license as there is a car, but i cannot drive! that's frustrating! should have taken my driver's license long time ago .. it's so expensive$$ these days.
me watching less VCDs nowadays, not much time .. my usual kakis are so fast when they complete their shows - Lao Lee, Ven goh and ah thing are like the super champs when it comes to watching dramas .. mi is like the snail .. crawling along so slowly .... saw 'One More Chance' the local movie .. laughed quite a bit .. never thot that i will enjoy a local production tho ...
oh, my sister got retrenched and stays home these days -did i ever tell you how much i love my sister and her children - that's Jezebel who is also cherry-pie, Omma, bell-li, jessy girl, etc, etc and Jarald who is ah-long (3), rald-by, Oh-di, boy-liz etc etc (I am good at giving names)... of coz, i also lurve hubby, my dad, my brother! the 2 kids adore me as much, and i am really blessed. sis cooks dinner for us and that is so appreciated! oh jessy's bdae coming soon .. what should i get her, my god-daughter? maybe get her some story books, but oh so boring .. or get her a pair of nice sports shoes? perhaps give her some choices ..
dad got a health scare early this month, but after all the tests and doc's visits, all clear but he's gotta quit smoking (i am forever thankful, imagine the amount he can save and the kindness he can give to his health) and watch his diet. but phew, i am thankful that things turn out ok. wanna go with my dad, uncle, sis and kids to bangkok again in march .. we love to go to bangkok together to pray to the Buddha, eat and shop .. uncle's been bugging me to start making plans ..
now thinking of where to go for vacation with hubby and frens in January ... see how first as all gotta depend on my studies as well as other commitments ...
work situation - nothing's changed much except now i am getting much involved and moving along my communications role.. i actually put together an Asia Pacific Comms Plan ..phew, a major accomplishment and it's received the buy-in of the management team. That's onli the beginning, now's the actual challenge to excecute the plan .. wish mi luck.

Hi, peeps - it seems like 'decades' since i updated my blog ... been too busy with year-end festivities, then CNY and work!! i dun like the new school at Jurong .. it looks so dead and scary - even too scary to walk the stairs or go to the toilet alone!!! i have been missing lots of lessons lately (not that I have been very on at the old premises but at least better than now) .. also, must add that I miss the old group of classmates - Russell, Sue Ann, Vanni, Ivan, Wanting, Joie etc .. they added life and fun to lessons .. now it's mostly Noormie, April, Josh and Kalai/ Melly on Fris .. seriously, I don think I attended Fridae's classes more than twice?! anyway, am now still struggling with Don's assignment - I keep thinking that I have got all my facts/ points wrong .. so frustrating! and the exams are coming up in early April .. gosh, stress coming again! when is ECP ha, Mel and Noormie? hey - haven't seen sue ann for ages at school .. is she still continuing her studies or what?!

when one of my fav K-actor was in town, am I glad to have been able to be part of his private gathering and to shake his hands and take pic with him ..he's so sauve and charming in person!!! why/ how on earth did the younger generation of Korean men be so dashing, gorgeous and tall??!! beats me, can it be the improved ingredients in their kimchi? believe it or not? i even sent him off at the airport ... alvin thinks I am crazy to do this and act like some teenager but I told him that I do not scream or shout .. we are a subdued group of matured fans who simply enjoy his acting!

work front - all fine's cept for one difficult colleague (female, single, in her 40s, works late everyday, complains the whole time that she is overloaded etc, supports only one boss the rest of us more than one, lousy computer skills, poor working attitude, does not improvise - jeez, mi sounds like a real BITCH but go figure) .... but that's no problem... been finally given the official title of Corporate Comms Coordinator, Asia Pacific in addition to my current role ... it's gonna be mi first step towards a career in Communications. Gain my experience and see if I am suited for this area of work - corporate/ internal comms .. actually it spans more stuff than it sounds! will have to keep learning ...

I am more homebound these days .. and i am cooking on sats at home! to make my home feel/ smell like a real home! Alvin's glad so are my godchildren whom I babysit on sats ... got back from bangkok last week, yearly trip there to visit the Erawan Shrine .. this time uncle came along and he enjoyed himself! workload's piling up but i am enjoying myself tremendously ... april's gonna be good cos we get paid our bonus end march (when most other ppl have probably spent their bonus) .. trying to save more $$$ as I have been a real spendthrift in the past .. sometimes i ask myself - why do i need that many bags/ shoes and clothes? I have clothes, shoes and bags which are brand new with price tags still lying around in my house so I think its time i stop buying like this! why not save the $$ (easier said than done for a shopholic like me!!!) .. but I am trying real hard .. and will give it a month or two to see how i fare (bangkok excluded la) ... i wanna go on a trip later this year so am saving $$$ now ...

felt on top of the world when Jarald improved his grades at his CA1 but jess' grades went down ... nvm, she gotta work harder next term ... i promised jess to take her to HK's Disneyland if she gets good grades for her PSLE in 2006 .. hope this can help spur her a little ...

got an email from a dear fren who's currently holidaying in seoul that she has got some goodies of my fav k-actor for me .. thanks Mitch, you are a real STAR!

my immediate task after April's exams is to go get my licence .. will sign up with the Comfort Driving School .... k ... that's all for now .. will be back again - i dun know when!

yo, peeps .. have been lazy for too long now .. get ready for a lengthy update from me ... mmm, where shall i start? I shall start with last christmas ...

ever since last christmas eve, i have been very very deprived of sleep .. can only manage about 5hrs of sleep daily!!! it was the year end so i thot should not waste time on sleep ... frens/ family have been coming over to my house so it's been like a mad house ..... every nite my house will be a bustle of activity till about wee hours of the morning (PS2, MJ, etc) ... guess this will go on till the CNY at least! at the same time, i am also busy with my kdramas ... got too many to catch up on through my network of frens hee hee hee!

alas, did not manage to stick to my endeavour of 'no shopping' .. how could I resist all the temptations during xmas/ new year shopping??? .. can't help but marvel at the wonders of credit cards but at the same time, always ask myself if i can live withour all my credit cards! alvin has given up and has begged/ asked/ requested that I clear my old stuff, before getting new ones as there are no more space in wardrobe and shoes cabinet.

office was so quiet and nice at year-end coz all expats on home leave and most staff clearing annual leave ... so it was all cosy and nice .. had a great time "eating snake'!

2004 has been a depressing, sad year with lots of unhappy memories ... let's hope 2005 will get better! with x'mas and new year holidays over.. i am so very much looking fwd to Chinese New Year (my favorite holiday!!!) ... now into buying goodies for my family and myself .. i just love CNY shopping ......and will be visiting chinatown soon ...

met up with Vanni on her birthday for lunch .... both enjoyed it though it was short (my boss in town la) ... hope she likes the little gift i got her and we had a great chat ..

school sucks coz of the location!!! it will take all my might and determination to make it to class ..... but it was good to see noormie & josh last tuesday .. hope to see melly at the next Print Production class (if i do make it *wink*) ...job wise going well ... discussions and plans going on for me for role expansion to take on official communications role - will start off with internal and corporate communications ... looking forward to that ... i did my first lengthy Tsunami update and communication to our area ... it well quite well!

last week was great ... it was jezzy's birthday on saturday 9 October and we decided to celebrate for her on friday the 8th .. she invited 3 of her best friends. Mom came and cooked fried bee hoon, fried chicken wings, fish balls, samosas, spring rolls, ngoh hiang and my sis mother-in-law cooked curry chicken ... great party food for the kidos .. jarald begged his mum to let him skip tuition as he wanted to spend time at home ... i as usual did last minute shopping, took off at 4pm from office that fri, went to buy her gift, bot her a CD comprising songs from 5566, K-one, R&B etc etc, a Mary Kate and Ashley book, a shaker pencil (din know this can be so expensive) and a barbie dall c-back tank top! she loved her gifts and i am glad .. she got a bag from my mom and a bag from her uncle (you know the japanese cat brand from takashimaya), a portable CD player from my dad, one more barbie T from my brother and red packets from her Ah Ma and aunts ... overall, she was really happy!!! took some pics which i would love to post but have not downloaded from digi camera yet la .. next time ..

Saturday - i skipped class (again, 4 x in a row) ... we went shopping coz needed to change that cat bag (her uncle bot her the backpack which was too small), in the end she changed it for 2 bags ... then my sis brot us to Crystal Jade for dinner, had to take a number and the number will blink as in the Polyclinics ... had a sumptious dinner! .. no, me wellcontrolled - did not buy anything ..

sunday - went to uncle's house in sembawang, he cooked our fav dishes for lunch ...

monday - took off at 3pm, ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes (spell broken, it's 3 pairs of shoes since first 11 days of the month - no more no more!) then went for facial!!!

tuesday- went for class (yes i did) .. seated with noormie as usual and had loads of fun writing msgs to each other .... we left at 8.30pm ... you noe there is a classmate who brings her b/f to class everytime .. he is in the army .. i mean its ok if they are in class but the only problem is they both enjoy burping! and it's not those silent types, it's LOUD! quite disgusting and rude, i thot ... not sure, maybe its just me, but i would have expected ladies to burp gracefully and silently if possible .... had tuna sandwich made by sis for dinner ... walked pass meesiam store at int'l plaza - cannot tahan, noormie - shall we go eat on Thursday? i will sms you ...

yeah, finally finshed my Econs assignment, not that i actually did it, i copied mostly from my reference book so hope i can get at least a pass ... have started on Radio Journalism, finished Q1 and will attempt Q2 ... i hope to get started on TV Production nex week ...

i will be on leave Mon-Wed next week, firstly to coach my 2 god-children in their studies as it's PSLE marking holidays and secondly to clear my leave ....

will be watching a movie premier Everyone Has A Secret starring my fav Korean actor this Saturday at cineleisure .. it's a specially organised movie premier so i had to pay $30 .. but I do get a goody bag etc ....

today's the start of TV Production module with Julian - he is still as wacky as ever and I enjoy attending his lessons! the only drag is that i will miss singapore idol every thurs ... *sign* - noormie: maybe can pongteng hor?
Mon & Tue - boss travelling and in super slack mood at office, got to admit went for pretty long lunches with colleagues ... enjoyed ourselves .. went window-shopping coz remember i am not supposed to buy clothes until CNY .. but i did buy a pair of shoes ...
need to go get pressies for my dear god-daughter's bday this saturday .. she has requested for some music CDs so see how first la .. went to disc station but still want to look around before buying .. kids these days are growing up so fast and i am finding it tougher to get pressies for them!
am trying to cut my food and watch my diet from this week onwards .. hope to lose 3-4 kgs by CNY... that's my goal ...
had fish soup both days for lunch, and will be eating yong tau foo tmr ... hopefully light lunches can help ... dinner time i have got jezebel & jarald to help me .. have decided not to eat at dining table as food too tempting (can i tell you that my sis' mother-in-law is like a really good cook and she is so nice to make sure that there is fish and veg when i am eating there coz she knows these are my favs) ... and i can avoid second helpings! they will help me take rice and scoop dishes on a plate for me to eat in front of TV ... resume jogging on monday and will go again on wed .. i will update on any successful losses!

Hi, folks - penning this from the office (as usual)
24 September - today is the party at my boss' house, wow, i was like a mad dog .. literally running from one place to another, as at the same time, there were buget meetings at the office ... phew, the night went well, catering was great and everyone had a great time! next time, if anyone needs to cater, can get from Lavish Dine - good food, reasonable price, flexible, etc... i have also decided that for the next party, i will delegate to the other secretaries to organise as I am too tired .. and wants to be a participant for once! Also, busy ordering flowers for Lena's shop opening also gotta help me sis/ bro-in-law order .. they know my friend also, and the other shop owner is the younger sister of my bro-in-law's sworn brother, anyway real complicated la .. but in short, we all know one another lor .. after party, took a cab home from Sixth Avenue, reached home at 11.15pm, bathed, changed and out of the house again to watch "New Police Story" by Jackie Chan at 12.10am .. booked 10 tickets so we kind of occupied the whole row - cool ... nice movie, with soem funny moments .. reached home at abt 3am!
25 September - woke up at 10.45am, godchildren called, asked them to come over to my house ... me bathed changed and went to shop opening with them and Alvin, later sis joined us, then me 'naughty naughty' never go to school, went shopping with sis ... but hey, for once, i ended up buying nothing for myself ... actualy yes la, bought some titbits .. later that evening, took cab sent sis and kids home then went to play MJ - yeah, my fav pastime!
26 September - my sis is so sweet, she knew that i had a late nite on Saturday, she went marketing with the kids instead of waking me ... i called and called when i woke up, finally she called me at 11am, so i went to coffeeshop to meet her for breakfast, alvin came and joined us .. we cooking veg curry, fried chicken wings, yong tau foo soup and beancurd with minced porl .. what did i do to deserve such a good sis? all my fav food ... must really treasure her ....my friend's kids Powen (6 yrs) and Lucas (2.5yrs) coming over to my dad's place also .. they are so cute!!! an enjoyable sunday with the kids, evening brought them downstairs to carry lanterns .. whoever who sees Lucas will love him, he is simply adorable plus knows the right things to say to melt people's hearts .. Lena must have taken loads of honey when she was pregnant!
they did not leave dad's place till 10pm and we left that time also, slept at 12.30am again!
27 September - woke up early, took jez to school then went to SGH for usual blood test .. came to office and *haiz* some serious urgent matter has cropped up *sucks* ... anyways, me gotta start Econs assignment soon, or will never end, but the problem is how to start? Josh - any suggestions?

20-21 Sep: not feeling well, bad cold and throat, finally could not take it, went to the doc on tues night, got an MC for wed .. doc told me to rest ..
22 sep: on medical leave, had porridge for lunch and slept a lot, but managed to still do some housework ..
23 sep: back to work, busy day, running here and there .. tmr is the party at my boss' house but i have not sorted out most things ... plus MDs are here for budget meetings etc ... busy busy busy! plus not fully recovered so feeling light-headed .. got an sms from former coursemate re: results out today, came back to office checked immediately .. relieved that I got As for CMS and MLE, but got a B for PR .. i had expected A for PR and Bs or Cs for the other 2, nvm, as long as there are As ... yeah, so glad I have finally completed ADMC ... my cousin, Kelvin is almost finishing his communications degree, he's taking at Auston (i think) ..
one of my good friend just told me she is pregnant ... so happy for her!! she just got back from a 6-week break in Europe so she told me the baby must be a product of Spain!!! made in Spain - not too bad ...
another friend's hair salon official opening on Sat, got classes so maybe will go after that .. see how first .. plan to get her a pot of artificial flowers but was told that it's 'unlucky' to give artificial flowers to someone for the opening ... so now i am stuck!
everybody's telling me how dark I am, got me seriously thinking of staying away from the sun for a long time to 'recover', but that's tough, coz me am an outdoor gal ... c how la... maybe gotta stop going to resorty places, stop swimming, stop going out during the day, aiyo - forget it, got to forgo so many stuff to stop becoming dark or darker!

hi peeps - feeling lousy today, having a bad cold and sore throat .. not in the mood to work but gotta come coz my boss is in ... Jezebel 10yrs girl/ jarald 7yrs boy - both my niece/ nephew as well as godchildren ...
saturday, brought jez to the pool for her bronze swimming test... i understand her jitters as i been thru all these tests (till Gold) when i was in primary school (so i ain't a bad swimmer)... we went for late breakfast and monster jarald promised to buy jez McDonalds if she passed her test, so sweet of him! reached the pool at 12pm, kids cannot wait to jump down, while i watched jez anxiously doing her test, monster played by himself in the medium pool ... after test, both played while i waited for sis to come, helped to take care of our stuff and it was my turn to hit the pool 20 laps of freestyle and breast stroke. monster jarald can actually swim now, but very panickily (such a word?)! so adorable and cute to see him swim ..and he is enjoying himself so much now that he swam from 12 - 3pm then both he and jez had swimming classes 3-4pm yet he still refused to go back .. my sis had to force him .. on way back went to Tampines Mall/ Century Sqare to walk walk, not supposed to spend $$ on clothes and bags, but decided to look at Tianpo Jewellers having 50-70% off renovation sale, bought a pair of earrings and a ring. both items cost close to 4-figure but not quite there yet - can guess?) ..told hubby but he never said anything so good la ... had Pastamania for dinner .. mmm, i like it .... at nite, MJ again ..
woke up coz kept hearing the Tamagotchi sound, looked around and jez left it in her shorts which she left in my room ... had to take care of the pet for her, and had to bring to office today ... on Sunday, went to Purajaya at Batam with hubby and friends, not to resort but to the casino .. i did not enjoy myself there, too smoking plus my only gambling vice is Mahjong and not interested in the casino games, i lost!! ... the weekend was short but well-spent (as in $$$) yeah, it's 4.30pm now already .. soon going off already ... hubby told me not to go to class today, but to go back and rest, if not feeling better, then must go see doc ... ciaoz peeps!

hi, folks - can't believe it's Friday again .. how time flies (but i am saying this coz it's Friday) .. wat abt the draggy Mon-Thur? anyways, tonite going for MJ session with some gal pals ... hasn't done anything significant this week, supposed to start on my econs assignment on Thur/ Fri as boss travelling but never bring books with me. Office environment is actually not that great, colleagues and myself tend to complain and talk abt all the stuff, it's bad to see morale at all time low but glad to have at least a group of close-knitted colleagues to share the unhappiness and happiness! well, guess this is the political office environment at work .. can anyone tell me if they sincerely think Timeshare is a great thing? one Director actually was bragging abt the timeshare program she purchased and how she will get 7 days stay in a whole list of 5-star properties all around the world by paying $10k but she actually only want to stay for 3 days etc etc etc .. she also tried really hard to convince 2 of her staff that it's a wise and good thing to buy Timeshare.. u know, timeshare is actually those programs where you pay a lump sum of say $10k then service it with yearly maintenance to be members of a group of properties .. try booking the properties and half of the time, you will be told they are occupied etc and most of these properties are on the outskirts of the countries ... we laughed so hard coz it proves that there are silly and dumb Directors around also, at least we are smarter and never fall prey to these scams .. you are usually promised a camera/ mobile phones/ free holidays etc but you have to listen to a talk first etc... if you recall being pestered before. One good friend brought to my attention 2 jobs that headhunters forwarded to her, but I am not abt ready to leave my current job .. i like my job, my company and some colleagues but its the other colleagues whom i dislike and making the office so unpleasant, on the other hand, why shld i leave bcoz of them? plus i am pursuing my course and would have opportunity to move into PR/ corporate communications so not wise to move now .. but the 2 jobs are fantastic ones ... can't have the best of both worlds, can we?
read melly's thought-provoking and very well-written blog entry .. so glad she let it all out .. i feel for this gal .. she is usally so quiet and mellow so must be really pissed to pen that blog. good job girl .. and i hope the mr drunk driver will read your blog one day! is he like what we call a wolf in sheep's clothing?

at Econs class on Wed, having a good time laughing and talking with Noormie .. Lin was talking with Josh and Margaret talking to Rain, then this classmate (from Accounting, i think) turned back looked at us once, then the 2nd time and said "if you dun mind, can you please lower your volume" to us!!! can you beat that, to us!!! then the class next door which always makes so much noise started laughing really loudly, and we are so glad that they actually helped us to laugh off at what our classmate said .. ain't I a true-blue bitch? i can be really nice, friendly and approachable but if i am pissed, then you will see the bitch in me!
and actually i find Margaret pretty approachable after talking to her (she just looks unapproachable) ... looks are deceiving!
not going to class on Saturday coz taking niece to swimming test and at the same time, me can swim also ... target is 30 laps. ok, so long, gotta get back to work first ... tata

Monday Blues

hi, it's another start of a week ... time is moving so fast, sometimes i feel that i am no longer in control!!! today is the last day of the Lunar Seventh Month, me not attending class as gotta pray tonite. Am organising a gathering at boss' home on 24 Sep, racking my brains for games, food, gifts etc etc ... planning to catch up with melly and noormie this week at dinner, still not decided on a day as I am usually busy on Fridays ... both of them have got classes Mon-Thurs, so how?
Work-wise, no difference for me ... but sometimes do get irritated by some colleagues ... to keep ourselves sane, we have tons to talk about everyday (would not consider this gossip as we talk about the truths) .. like there are 2 dumb blondes here, one of them is the butt of our everyday joke and is our main talking point! i mean, do you believe there are people who actually enjoy flying around, not for serious biz but for chalking up mileage ... we think that for ppl like them, when you try to whisper to them, you will hear echos and the head is hollow between the ears! workload is increasing ... but am too restless to get to work seriously, will be better tmr!

3 Sep - gotta clear my leave .. from this year onwards, we can only carry forward 15 days (previous years we can carry fwd as many days as we have) .. so I gotta clear another 10 days by end Dec .. decided to take the day off to pamper myself, first to facial then to do my hair .. left my home at 11am and got back only at 9pm .. but it ended up in me feeling good about myself!

4 Sep - not a bad day .. after class, went back to sleep, managed to catch some exercise, slept, woke up and went to watch Anacondas .. crappy movie but still ok la to watch ..

5 Sep - daddy's working so me, sis and 2 kids went to the temple to pray then went shopping in orchard .. boy, i lurve shopping but do not lurve the damage .. spent a bomb on clothes plus i bought a bag again .. Alvin's bound to nag coz I have 1001 bags at home, many of them new and unused!!! was at Taka basement, and i went crazy buying all the food .. gosh, exercised in vain on Sat ... after that, went to dad's home .. this is one sunday that i like coz i am on leave again the next day! i promised myself no more shopping till January

6 Sep - got morning call from Jarald (the cute monster) sis off also, so we brought kids to the zoo .. fun but at 3+ it rained cats and dogs, took the bus to CCK mrt and came home .. tired but enjoyable day! went to alvin's mum's place for dinenr (i have not been there for ages, so paiseh) .. a long-time friend came by, we were shocked, a real funny eurasian chap Ivan, asked if i wanted to play MJ so ended up playing MJ at my house, i laughed so hard, he calls his Hongky gf, Hongky Donkey

remember the irritaing greedy temp colleague, it was her last day on Sep 6, so din get to see her when i came back to office!

7 - 8 Sep - played MJ again, with a group of pals ...

10 Sep - played MJ after work again with same group of pals ... besides shopping, MJ's gotta be my next fav!

12 Sep - oh dear, broke my promise, bought more clothes ..

13 Sep - overslept but got here in time .. told my close colleagues to stop me from shopping for the next 3 months ...no doubt i will be miserable but better than spending all that dough! could put the dough to better use!

hi, peeps - i am glad its midweek as i am off on Fri & Mon... fri to do my own things (facial, hair, etc) and Mon to take my godchildren (niece Jezebel P4 and nephew Jarald P1).. its my promise if they get good results for CA2. Bel got great results but the bro's results sucked!! but anyhow, i love them so much i would forgive him just once ... maybe going to sentosa.. in Singapore, not many choices we have rite? alvin's been asking when i am gonna do my hair etc. coz he wants to get a haircut + colour too - he is more vain than me anytime! he will be glad i am planning to go on friday
read sue's blog - it's great to be missed, i miss you gals also, especially SA, Melly and Vanni ... when can we meet again? SA - i will sms you one day to have lunch since we are so close to each other .. when you always say you close the referrals, what do you mean ha? bintan is great, i like it there .. it's near and easy to get too, you will have a great break there!
melly - you seem to have an interesting job going on .. would love to hear more abt it ..
classes on mon&wed are so boring luckily noormie & josh are with me or the lecturer would hardly get a glimpse of me ... we stay awake by snacking and talking nonsense and i suspect we are bring real irritating to some classmates ...
josh - remember to bring carrot cake next time hor, white with no chilli! he forgot to bring it for me last saturday so ... i look fwd to the next time you can bring ...
workfront - no difference except maggie is back now! yeah, so the irritating temp will be gone soon .. maggie has started to fill me in on her trip details (more to come), that lucky woman was away for about 5 weeks in London, Paris, Spain, Italy, Belgium etc etc etc ... but she is broke now coz everything is so ex $$$ there, she paid like S$9 for a coke, can you beat that? i lurve the bally tote bag she got for only about Euros 200+!!!
mmm, i have never thot of visiting europe as i much prefer the states, but then again ... see how la .. maybe when i have at least 10K spare cash then will consider to go there!
feels great coz have been doing a bit of charity lately .. donated some $$ for a temple building fund, donated some money to Red Cross and KDF, pooling $$ together with colleagues to buy toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps etc for underpriviledged kids in cambodia ...
one incident i saw on the mrt last friday got me thinking abt how 'ugly' some singaporeans can be .. train crowded evening peak hour, one very pregnant lady standing and no one bothered to offer seat to her, someone got up to alight, pregnant lady wanted to go sit and one lady in her forties pounced on the seat despite the stares she was getting all round, how I wish Julie was there, she would have told the lady off .. and that poor pregnant lady gotta stand like for another 3 stations b4 someone alighted and she finaly had a seat .. *sign* wat to do?
bet on soccer matches recently .. did not make much but for the fun and thrill of watching the matches (influence by alvin!!!)
writing this in the office when my boss is at a meeting .. have been slag recently .. no idea why, just not that passionate abt job and morale not very encouraging here as well! ....
well, let's hope 'tomorrow will be better'

Hi, peeps - am taking Econs as one of the modules this term, yucks i HATE econs .. it's so boring and dry .. can't even keep my eyes awake, so half of the time, am either eating in class, or writing notes to noormie to stay awake.... josh is popular in class nowadays man, he has a few girls for company like rain, linda and margaret. noormie and i are suckers for mee-siam so we will eat mee-siam at IP before going to class, dat's one highlight of attending classes .. starting radio journalism this Sat, now this should not be boring and the lecturer is Elizabeth, one of my fav ... thanks noormie for checking my results with YC, glad i passed now only waiting to know the grades ...
work life is still the same, but busier these days, one of the secretary on vacation for 6 weeks and we got this irritating contract staff who, can i just tell you, is absolutely the most irritaing and greedy person I have met .. whenever we talk to other colleagues, she would literally stop whatever she is doing to listen .. when we have food, she will help herself first then ask 'can or not ha?' .. we simply cannot stand her, just counting down to the days maggie will return and she goes! she is always scouring for food and listening in to our conversations!
Am still stuck at office at this 5.50pm ... planned to leave at 5.30pm for a mahjong session but am stuck stuck stuck!!! boss, pls finish up watever you are saying to Geeta and leave, go get a life, it's Friday!
Melly seems to have a pretty challenging job at hand, would love to hear more of it ...
eee, i gotta attend classes tmr .. wat is this man? classes on Saturday ..

Hi, folks - it's been so long since i sent my post .. in the midst of studying for my PR exams on Thurs, decided to write. Had first paper on Sun 8 Aug - Media, Com and Society .. Kalai sat in front of me ... sue came late and sat beside me .. phew, good to have a friend sit beside you .. Julian as usual was walking around looking at our answers, and making funny faces, etc.... anywayz, studied till late on 8 Aug morning, chatted with noormie, kalai, melly, josh in betwee... it feels great to have nice classmates, kinda motivates me in my studies .. was buzy buzy at work again as usual .. went to watch The Village (a little disappointed but shall not unveil for the sake of those who have yet to watch) .. went shopping on Mon with my sis and the two lil ones .. i lurve them so much .. can't imagine life without them though!!! bought some clothes .. went back to office today after being off from last Thurs, got 1001 emails to go thru plus preparations for a senior management meeting, but crazy me, it feels really good to be back at work, i actually missed going to work coz i have got a few really fantastic colleagues .. i am trying to study but hubby has his friends over playing jim ruby with tiles so i kept tok tok with them ... read melly's and sue's blogs, glad they enjoyed their nite out (minus Russ for melly maybe?) and that dear sue's in lurve ...

Hi, all - i love weekends! on thursday, i was pissed by a colleague (WTH better not talk abt her lest spoil my mood! ah thing - u noe who rite? clue: DB). Friday was nice, no classes so could go out with my hubby for dinner (i had tiong bahru fish porridge, alvin had korean bbq)/ walk walk at parkway parade ... my colleague, eT took bus with me from office and walked with me to PP since i so suaku didn't know my way there. I am still continuing my lunch-time exercise routine with a gorup of 5 colleagues - it's the Ancient Secrets of the Fountain of Youth. we practice the 5 rites ...
woke up late on sat morning, nice mmm was raining (i love rainy days - makes the home really cosy) .. did not go swimming with my godchildren as decided to go do something to my hair ..
after so many years of long hair, decided to chop it off .. plus colored/ hi-light! felt good to have short hair again ... spent the entire afternoon, but hubby was nice, waited with me since its his friend's salon and they yak and yak. Tonight going to watch midnight movie King Arthur - its showing at 12.20am .. *yawn* will be sleepy ..
monday meeting classmates for revision but i guess will end up as a tok tok session .. chatted with melly, sue, noormie and josh last night - it's great fun chatting wif this group of ppl.. also had a good chat with kelly (in sheffield) ...
tmr - not sure wat we are going to do, maybe going to my uncle's house in sembawang ..
next week will be hectic week for me at office gotta be prepared .. dat's all, must start to do my PR assignment or else cannot hand in on 29 Jul ... that's all for now .. cheers

hi all - finally set up my Blog .. me didn't even knew this existed until Noormie and Melly (Thames) told me abt it .. i was like "what is that" and went home to check on the net immediately.... anyways, think this is a good way to record your feelings n thots to share wif ppl .. read thru melly's and sue's .. thot provoking .. sue, now i know why you enjoy freedom (per friendster) .. was last day of class yesterday .. but the whole gang did not turn up! no melly, no sue, no vanie, no kalai, no ivan, oh jeez, there were just 7 of us ... am gonna miss all these ppl next semester *sob* .. but nvm, i promised uncle russell that i will organise a revision session where we get together to revise for exams (more like to gather to toktok). yesterday quite funny, noormie said in the car that ivan is such a gentleman, russ was like 'hey, what do you mean by that? are you saying me and Josh not gentlemen? let me see where is a good place to drop noormie off?" we had a good laugh! i always enjoy mon & fri lessons and look fwd to attending - talk abt motivation, i jus enjoy time together with the gang (u know who u r).. thurs PR lessons - no kakis at all, 2 classmates are nice (rem i make friends easily) we talk but its diff la!
